On March 28, the project kickoff meeting for the "Development and Application of 3D Visualization Technology for Biomacromolecular Machines" was held in Changchun. This project is led by the Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry (CIAC), Chinese Academy of Sciences, and is part of the National Key R&D Program on Biomacromolecules and the Microbiome. More than 30 experts and participating researchers attended the meeting.

The meeting was chaired by Researcher Zhu Xueliang from the Center for Excellence in Molecular Cell Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Researcher Pang Xuan from CIAC delivered the opening remarks. The principal investigator, Researcher Wang Hongda from CIAC, provided a detailed presentation on the project background and overall plan. Each sub-project leader elaborated on the key scientific questions, research content, objectives, and methodologies for their respective topics. The project advisory panel consists of 11 experts, including Professor Zhou Ruhong from Zhejiang University. The panel engaged in in-depth discussions with the project team on technical challenges and provided optimization suggestions regarding research content and project management, expressing the expectation that the team would strengthen collaboration to achieve technological breakthroughs.

Biomacromolecules are the executors of life activities, and microscopy imaging and fluorescent labeling technologies are critical for observing their dynamic characteristics. The project aims to promote innovation in optical microscopy imaging technology, achieve independent development of China's high-end super-resolution instruments, provide cost-effective research tools, and offer support for key challenges in population health, medicine, and biotechnology.
