Since its founding, CIAC has nurtured a number of scientists of high renown both at home and abroad, as well as a large contingent of high-caliber research and technical professionals. To date, 32 scientists affiliated with the institute have been elected as Academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and the Academy of Sciences for the Developing World. Currently, the institute has 859 employees on duty, including 6 Academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, 3 Fellows of the Academy of Sciences for the Developing World, 141 senior professional researchers in science and technology positions, 7 recipients of the National Hundred-Thousand-Ten Thousand Talents Program, and 25 recipients of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars. Additionally, 4 teams have been awarded the National Key Area Innovation Team, and 5 research teams have been selected for the Innovative Research Groups Program of the National Natural Science Foundation of China.
