Resume:

Post doctoral, University of British Columbia (Donald E. Brooks, 2008-2013).

Ph.D. (Polymer of Chemistry and Physics), Jilin University, 2007.

B.Sc. (Fine Chemistry), Jilin Institute of Chemistry and Engineering, 1998.

Direction:

Our laboratory is utilizing polymer science in the development of synthetic universal biomembrane adhesive materials for application in delivery vehicles and other biomedical applications. For instance, polyvalent choline phosphate based polymers can fast adhesive to any cell membrane containing PC-lipids, and very fast uptake into the cytoplasm of cells, therefore it acts the carriers of local drug delivery to achieve efficient therapeutic targets. We hope that this system can avoid the host’s defense mechanisms and circulatory system of body. Our approach to developing biocompatible polymer is to increase dense choline phosphate in polymer chains, improving the bonding strength of the polyvalent choline phosphate based adhesive to cell surface, and derivatized with a huge range of chemical entities to allow their application as drug delivery vehicles and many others. We are applying these to areas as diverse as local tumor therapy model, tissue adhesion, medical imaging.
