According to a report in the People's Daily on February 3, the selection results for the 2025 Ho Leung Ho Lee Science and Technology Prize have been announced.

Yang Xiurong, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Researcher at the Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CIAC, CAS), was awarded the 2025 Ho Leung Ho Lee Science and Technology Prize in Chemistry.

Profile of Academician Yang Xiurong:

Yang Xiurong, born in 1946, is a member of the Communist Party of China. Her research primarily focuses on electroanalytical chemistry, biosensing, and microfluidic analytical chemistry. She has served as project leader for multiple national programs including the 863 Program, 973 Program, the Ninth Five-Year Key Scientific and Technological Research Program, the National Major Scientific Instrument Development Program, Major Foundation Projects, General Foundation Projects, and CAS Key Projects. She has published more than 470 SCI papers with over 26,000 citations by others, and has been selected multiple times for the list of China's Highly Cited Researchers. She holds more than 20 authorized invention patents. Her honors include the National Natural Science Award (Second Class, twice), the First National Innovation Pioneer Award, the Jilin Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award (First Class, six times), the Liang Shuquan Basic Research Award in Analytical Chemistry from the Chinese Chemical Society, the Chen Yaozu Special Contribution Award in Organic Analysis, and the title of Jilin Provincial Model Worker. She currently serves as Editor-in-Chief ofChemical Journal of Chinese Universities (Fenxi Huaxue) and Advanced Sensor and Energy Materials, and as Associate Editor of Biosensors & Bioelectronics, among other positions.
