Akihisa Inoue, President of Tohoku University, visited Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry, CAS, on January 6, 2012.

Prof. Akihisa Inoue, is currently the Director of the Institute of Materials Research, Tohoku University, Sendai, Japan. He obtained his Doctor of Engineering and Materials science from Tohoku University in 1975. During the 80's he was frequently invited at Bell Laboratories, Murray Hill, USA as a guest scientist for his expertise in amorphous metallic materials. He was also a visiting Scientist at the Swedish Institute of Metals Research, Stockholm and the Royal Institute of Technology for extended periods. Prof. Inoue is a pioneer in the field of amorphous materials and bulk glassy materials with over 1500 refereed publications. He has been a consistent Award winner from most of the professional societies for his significant contributions.
