IABS 2013, or the 4th International Advanced Biomaterials Symposium 2013, was held successfully at the Changchun institute of applied chemistry, CAS during September 28th to 30th. IABS 2013 was an international symposium on biomaterials organized by the Key Laboratory of Polymer Ecomaterials, Chinese Academy of Sciences,which was a continuation of the previous International symposiums on Biomaterials. It has been a fruitful platform for academic exchange for biomaterials scientists from all over the world.

The chairman of IABS 2013 was Professor Xuesi Chen (China). The co-chairmen were Professor Doo Sung Lee (Korea), Professor Hiroyuki Nishide (Japan) and Professor Kinam Park (USA). 

The discussions on the symposium were around Biodegradable Polymers, Functional Polymers, Advanced Drug Delivery Systems, Gene Delivery, Bioactive Materials for Regenerative Medicine, and Nanotechnologies for Cancer Diagnosis and Therapy.
