At the Academy’s 26th General Meeting in Vienna, TWAS elected 44 new Fellows on November 19, 2015. Prof. ZHANG Hongjie, CIAC scientist was elected a new member of Chemical Sciences.

ZHANG works at the State Key Laboratory of Rare Earth Resource Utilization, Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He has contributed to the synthesis of rare earth materials and invented rare earth luminescent powder for AC LED lighting. He was elected CAS Member in 2013.
