José N. Onuchic, a world-renowned physicist, chemist and biologist, was awarded Einstein Professorship of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) at Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry (CIAC) on August 20, 2011. AN Lijia, director of CIAC, awarded him the certificate on behalf of the president of the CAS.
After the ceremony, Prof. Onuchic delivered a lecture entitled “ibration Assistance/Coupling in Electron Transfer”.Then Prof. Onuchic visited the museum of the CIAC , where he had a lively discussion with the scientists and graduate students of the lab.

José N. Onuchic, co-director of Center for Theoretical Biological Physics and Department of Physics, professor of Physics at University of California, San Diego, is member of National Academy of Sciences of the United States, and fellow of the American Physical Society.
About the Einstein Professorship Program
The Einstein Professorship Program was launched by CAS in 2004, which aims to promote academic exchange and communication between CAS researchers and world prestigious scientists. Einstein Professorships are awarded to 20 distinguished scientists each year who devote great efforts to the development of science and technology.
