Prof. Harald Pasch, from Department of Chemistry and Polymer Science of University of Stellenbosch, South Africa, paid a visit to the CIAC on April 1, 2012.
Prof. Pasch was invited to give a presentation on his recent research progress as a “Polymer Science Lecture Series”.
Prof. Pasch discussed the principle ideas of analyzing complex polymers by multidimensional analytical techniques, and the most promising protocols refer to coupling different chromatographic methods (2D chromatography) or hyphenating liquid chromatography with information rich detectors (FTIR, NMR, MS). A number of representative examples for multidimensional polymer analysis will be presented that refer to the analysis of block copolymers, hydrophilic copolymers and polyolefins were also involved.
